It's gonna be HOT today

We need to start looking into pool prices for next year. Maybe something a tad simpler

Today's white kitchen cabinets

I love the marble counters and the black and white floor

New Kitchen Color

Here once again is the before pic...as I said in a previous post just awful. I should be banned from watching HGTV. One must learn to use one's head before jumping into a painting project! Geez my great picture taking chopped the head off my old poster.

The sky is seldom blue here and the sun rarely shines so I went with a happier color than I would normally pick.I had the settee recovered in a more Frenchie toile fabric and hung french prints from Source Perrier on the wall...The prints are in French, I must be going for a French theme?
I tried hard to stay away from my ususal corny country look but, for some reason I still used the the damn rabbit and flower pillow and last but not least the wooden trio of ducks. If the sun ever comes out I will take pics of the rest of the kitchen for you. Trust me there is still plenty more of my country junk in the kitchen.

Dream Big

If only I had an extra $185,000.....We could have a Christopher peacock kitchen in just 12 weeks. His kitchen are the reason I'm thinking white. At least I was able to order samples of his paint to pick a white. I went to B. Moore to try and match his white and even that couldn't be done. None of their whites were "white" enough. The next step is for me to spend weeks fixating on various shades of white. In the end I will give up and close my eyes and just pick one.

obsessed with painting my kitchen cabinets white

I love this kitchen...Susanna Salk's weekend lake house kitchen. I've been pondering this for months. Maybe its finally time to just do it!

Bermuda

We just got back from a much needed trip to Bermuda for our Birthdays! We stayed at Cambridge Beaches which is always lovely in a shabby chic kind of way
Some how they are always a little off in their service and yet we keep going back!
Our favorite place to eat lunch is on the beach... I didn't take pictures but the views from our suite were just amazing and I guess that's the reason we keep going back. It also helps it just a two hour flight from NY and as a rule it seems to run on time, something that is almost unheard!
It was a wonderful trip and as I sit here in NJ at 4:45pm, I'm wondering WHO is going to get me MY Pina Colada!

Eames dsw side chair

I love this chair! I first saw in The February 2008 issue of Elle Decoration, the UK edition. I searched for the chair in this country and was unable to find it with the wooden legs. I was only able to find it with the Eiffel Tower legs. Finally I found this site http://www.ambientedirect.com/en/usd/design_eames_dsw_en.php?cur=usd&lan=en from Germany that was willing to ship it to the US. It only took about two weeks for it to get here. The ladies at the post office were dying to know what was in the huge box when I went to pick it up! Now if Icould just figure out a place to put it!

looking out living room window

Not a very good pic...but in the tree is a beautiful robin's nest with two new baby chicks. You can even see them feeding the chicks worms its so close to the window! Maybe tomorrow when the sun is in the window I'll be able to get a better shot.

I LOVE this paul Smith wall hanging in Sex and the City!

I loved the movie but I found myself becoming distracted by all the pretty things...Wonder if you can still buy the wall hanging or will I have to wait for it to show up on ebay? When it does show up on ebay the price will be too high and I'd spend major time looking at pics wondering real or counterfeit. Ebay isn't a nice place to shop for "hot items" anymore.

What was I thinking...a blight on America, or too much HGTV

Several years ago I thought it would be a good idea to "sponge paint" my kitchens with plastic grocery bags...PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS
I now know this is a very bad idea...what was I thinking? It looks like someone threw Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard on the walls...next the make-over
