I was thinking of doing the last blank wall with plates too, but having them run across the wall horizontally. I am still waiting for silk drapes to be finished for the two windows.The Greek key trim runs around the top of the chair rail

Hi - how about a huge mirror on the floor - that would be more contemporary and would match the style of your chandelier? have you ever thought of painting your walls a deep dark color - like mud or gray??? you need to look at Emma Pilkington 's dining room - it reminds me of yours kind of - look at it here but you have to scroll down to see it;

Joni,I would love to sit and pick your brain! I am going to think about your paint color suggestions....the mud color oddly sounds good. I have trouble thinking outside the box!
